How to Play

It’s simple to play trivia with The Trivia Factory. Before you and your friends come out to play trivia with the Trivia Factory, you will want to visit www.TheTriviaFactory.com for that night’s first question and answer for free points. Also, there is another bonus called the Invisible Movie Challenge that awards an additional five points for the correct title of the movie. The movie scene and a hint can be found at The Trivia Factory Fan Page on Facebook. When your team arrives to play a trivia night at one of The Trivia Factory’s venues, locate the host so your team will have the necessary items to play:  a scoresheet, an answer pad, and a pen. The answer pad is used to turn in your team’s answers to the host, and the scoresheet can be used to keep track of your team’s points during the game. When your team turns in an answer to the trivia host, please make sure your team’s name is on the slip of paper.

The format of The Trivia Factory’s trivia game is easy to follow. The host will ask twenty questions divided into two rounds of ten questions each. Each question will have a point value assigned to it, ranging from 6 to 10 points, and a category. The categories will depend on which trivia night your team is at. After the host reads a question, a song will be played and during the song, your team will need to come up with an answer and turn it in before the end of the song. If your team answers correctly, your team will be awarded the points for that question, and if your team turned in the wrong answer, don’t worry because your team will not be penalized or lose points for an incorrect answer.

After the two rounds of twenty questions, there will be one final round – the bonus question. The format for this question is different than the first twenty. The host will announce your team’s score plus announce the category for that night’s bonus question. The host will play a song and your team will have to make a wager based on your total from the first two rounds. Your team can wager one point to all your points and everything between those two extremes. Your team will turn in your wager to the host and once the host has all the wagers, the bonus question will be read. Your team will have two songs to come up with the correct answers. The bonus question is one question that has four answers. To win your team’s wager, your team must turn in only three correct answers, any three. The fourth answer is the bonus. Turn in four correct answers and your team will not only win your wager but also an additional twenty-five points. However, there is a risk for going for all four. If your team turns in three out of four correct answers, your team will win the wager but will also receive a twenty-five point deduction for the incorrect fourth answer.

The points from the Trivia Factory’s trivia night shows are used to determine the teams that will make it to our signature contest – the Tournament of Champions. The top three teams from every Trivia Factory trivia night will have their scores tallied up for a three month period and the top twenty five at the end of the quarter will be entered to compete for the $1000 cash prize awarded to the winner of the Tournament of Champion as well as a trophy and bragging rights as the best trivia team for that quarter. It’s important that if your team starts off using one name and your team has placed for points, your team stays with the same team name until the end of the quarter.
